Walk-and-talk therapy offers a refreshing twist on traditional therapy. Instead of sitting in an office or staring at a screen, we can take our sessions outside. Being in nature and moving your body can make it easier to open up, reduce feelings of anxiety, and help you feel more relaxed. Sometimes just getting out of a confined space can lead to a clearer mind and a more natural flow of conversation.

Movement and fresh air aren’t just good for your physical health—they also support your emotional well-being. Research shows that walking in nature can lower stress levels, improve mood, and even boost creativity. Combining that with therapy creates a powerful space for processing emotions, gaining perspective, and reconnecting with yourself in a more grounded way.

Walk-and-talk therapy is a great option if you’re feeling stuck, restless, or simply want a more holistic approach to your mental health. Whether you're navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, or just need a change of pace, this style of therapy can help you move forward—literally and emotionally.

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Layers are great if the temperature might change during the session. The goal is to feel relaxed and at ease while we walk.

  • Consider bringing a water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, or a hat for sun protection. If it’s chilly or windy, a light jacket can help. We’ll keep the pace gentle and adjust as needed.

  • If at any point during our session you’d prefer to sit or stop walking, that’s totally okay. Your comfort, physically and emotionally, comes first.

  • Even though we’re outside, your privacy is important. We'll stick to quieter paths or routes where you can speak freely. If we pass others, we can pause or shift the topic briefly, if we pass someone you may know I will never disclose the nature of our relationship—your confidentiality is always respected.

  • There’s no need spend the night before coordinating your best matching outfit. Just show up as yourself. This is a space to breathe, reflect, and move—at your own pace.
